Invisalign clear aligners in Ferndown: straighten your teeth discreetly

Most people who would like straighter teeth are not put off by the treatment itself. They are put off by the thought of a mouthful of metal at work, at their wedding, or in every photograph for the next two years.

Invisalign is a course of clear, removable aligners, made for your teeth from a 3D digital scan. Each set is worn for around a fortnight and moves your teeth a small, planned amount before you move on to the next. You take them out to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to clean your teeth. Most people you speak to will not notice you are wearing them.

Invisalign will not suit every case, and it asks something of you in return, because the aligners only work while they are in your mouth. Your dentist at Envisage Dental Ferndown will tell you honestly at your assessment whether it is the right choice for your teeth, and what the alternatives are. Get in touch to arrange one.

You will find us at 5 Queens Road in Ferndown, where we have cared for patients across Ferndown, Wimborne and West Moors for over 50 years.

Testimonials

What our Ferndown patients say

I had Invisalign done with Tom. From start to finish he was very thorough, making sure he made my teeth look as good as he possibly could, he also talked me through every stage making sure I had a good understanding of what was going on and going to happen next. I am so much more confident and happy now, it was 100% worth doing.

-Jamie Guest

I went with Tom Rowland from Envisage in Ferndown after a referral from a friend. My process was Invisalign and 8x Veneers, and the whole process from step 1 to the finish was amazing. I was fully guided through the process by Tom every step of the way. I am now super pleased with my new smile.

Why clear aligners

Straighten your teeth
without the metal

Most adults aren’t looking for a completely different smile. They simply want to feel more confident when they smile, stop hiding their teeth in photographs, close a gap or straighten teeth that have become crowded over time. Invisalign offers a discreet alternative to traditional fixed braces. There are no brackets or wires. You can remove the aligners when you eat, drink and clean your teeth, then put them back in afterwards.

For many people, that’s what makes Invisalign particularly appealing: you can work, socialise, travel and get on with everyday life without traditional visible braces.

Invisalign FAQs

Usually not. The aligners are clear and designed to fit closely over your teeth, making them much less noticeable than traditional braces.

Some patients may need small tooth-coloured attachments to help the aligners grip certain teeth. Your dentist will explain whether these are likely to be needed as part of your treatment plan.

Most people describe feeling some pressure or tightness rather than significant pain, particularly when moving to a new set of aligners.

This usually settles as your teeth adjust. If you experience ongoing discomfort or an aligner is rubbing, let your dental team know so they can help.

Treatment time depends on how much your teeth need to move and the complexity of your case.

Some mild cases may be completed in around six months, while more comprehensive treatment can take longer. Your dentist will give you an estimated treatment time following your assessment.

The best way to find out is to have an assessment.

We’ll check the health of your teeth and gums, look at your bite and assess how much movement is needed. If Invisalign isn’t the most suitable option for you, we’ll explain why and discuss the alternatives.

The cost depends on your individual treatment needs.

You’ll receive a written treatment plan and price following your assessment and scan, before you decide whether to proceed. Finance options are also available to help spread the cost.

Yes. You remove your aligners when eating, so you don’t have to avoid particular foods.

You should remove them for drinks other than plain water, as hot or coloured drinks can stain or affect the aligners.

Don’t panic. Contact us and we’ll advise you what to do based on where you are in your treatment.

It’s important to let us know rather than simply leaving the aligners out, as this can affect your treatment progress.

You’ll need to wear retainers to help maintain your results.

Teeth naturally move throughout life, so retention is an important part of orthodontic treatment. We’ll explain your retainer options and how often you should wear them.

For some nervous patients, Invisalign can feel more manageable because the aligners are removable and treatment doesn’t involve brackets, wires or injections.

We’ll always talk to you about how you’re feeling and make sure you understand what will happen before treatment begins.
